Plan complicated journeys with the itinerary function in TomTom navigation systems.

Driving isn't always about getting to your final destination as quickly as possible. Sometimes you might want to take a detour on the way to visit friends, family or a tourist attraction. TomTom satellite navigation systems come with a useful function that can help you to plan complicated journeys with several waypoints. The "Itinerary" navigation setting calculates the quickest and easiest route between each waypoint in turn and then the final destination on your planned journey.

Instructions

    • 1

Switch on the "TomTom" and tap the display screen to open the main menu.

    • 2

Tap the "Navigate To" button and then click "Itinerary Planning."

    • 3

Tap the "Add" button to select waypoint locations to add to the itinerary.

    • 4

Select waypoint locations by tapping "Recent Destination," "Favorite" or "Address." Enter addresses with the alphanumeric on-screen keyboard and select recent destinations or favorite destinations from the drop-down list when you select these options. Add as many waypoints as you need by tapping the "Add" button and following this step. The TomTom saves each waypoint in turn and adds this to the waypoint menu in the itinerary.

    • 5

Tap each waypoint in the menu to open it and edit it. This allows you to change the waypoint to a destination. For example, you might wish to change the final waypoint in the list to a destination. Tap "Mark As Waypoint" or "Mark As Destination" to change each entry. Change the order of the itinerary by tapping "Move Item Up" or "Move Item Down." You can also remove a waypoint by selecting "Delete Item."

    • 6

Tap "Done" when you've finished adding and editing waypoints and destinations. Tap "Options" and "Start Navigation" to begin the journey.

Tips & Warnings

  • Save your itinerary for future use by tapping "Options" and then "Save Itinerary" in the "Itinerary Planning" menu.
