Things You'll Need:
- Play Yard Ground Materials
- Swing Set
- Adjustable Wrenches
- Socket Sets
- Stepladders
-
Step 1
Take all the pieces out of the box.
-
Step 2
Find the package of nuts and bolts.
-
Step 3
Read the directions if there are any.
-
Step 4
Lay out the pieces on the ground. Arrange them the way they will eventually connect in the finished assembly.
-
Step 5
Lay out any ground covering or mats.
-
Step 6
Find the four uprights, which are the long poles that form the set's frame.
-
Step 7
Connect two uprights at the end, forming an acute angle. Use the nuts and bolts provided.
-
Step 8
Connect the second set of two uprights the same way.
-
Step 9
Connect any braces included onto the uprights. They should attach about halfway along the uprights.
-
Step 10
Connect the crosspiece, usually the largest piece of metal or a long wooden beam, to the apex of each set of uprights. Make sure any holes or hooks in the crosspiece face the right way so that it will be possible to attach the swing correctly.
-
Step 11
Tighten the bolts and stand the set on its feet.
-
Step 12
Find the chains or rope for the swing.
-
Step 13
Use a stepladder and attach the chains to the crosspiece. Hooks should be provided.
-
Step 14
Attach the hanging chain's bottom to the swing seat. Measure each side so the swing hangs evenly.

on 7/31/2009 I would love some plans to build an adult swing. It's great exercise, but kid sets are just too flimsy.
