How to Archive Skype Messages

Skype (skype.com) users to engage in a variety of types of communication with others including chat, video and/or audio calls, voicemails, SMS messages and file transfers. Skype also allows users to keep a complete history of all communications in an archive. Using Skype's privacy settings, users specify how long they would like to keep conversation logs archived. Users may select from a list of time frames ranging from never to forever. Once a user specifies a time frame, all conversations will remain archived for that amount of time, unless the user manually deletes them.

      Click "Skype" and then "Preferences" from the top menu bar.

      Select the "Privacy" tab for Skype 5.0 and above, or the "Chats" tab for Skype 4.2 and below.
