How to Hide People on Twitter

Any Twitter user can reply to public tweets. If another user sends you harassing, offensive or otherwise undesired replies to your tweets, you can hide them from view by blocking that user. Blocking users prevents them from following your tweets, replying to your tweets or mentioning you in their own tweets. Using the option to hide people ensures that your Twitter experience is comfortable and safe.

Instructions

    • 1

Sign in to Twitter. Navigate to the profile page of the person you want to hide.

    • 2

Click the gear icon. It is located between the user's account information and the list of their most recent tweets.

    • 3

Select "Block X" from the drop-down menu, wherein "X" will be the person's username.

Tips & Warnings

  • The user will not be notified that they have been blocked, but they may discover this on their own if they attempt to follow you and are unable to do so.
