The White Sox are one of the most famous baseball teams in the world. The White Sox originated in Chicago in 1900, and have been a large part of American baseball ever since. Many people are die-hard fans of the White Sox, and love everything about the team. If someone you know is a White Sox fan, then they will appreciate a cake decorated with White Sox colors and images. This cake is not difficult to decorate, but does require an edible transfer of the White Sox logo. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • White butter cream frosting
  • Rolling pin
  • Green fondant
  • Brown fondant
  • Pastry bag with round decorating tip
  • Red butter cream frosting
  • Edible White Sox emblem
  • Small baseball cake toppers

Instructions

    • 1

      Coat the cake in butter cream icing. Roll out some brown fondant and cover the entire cake with it. Smooth the fondant and trim the excess.

      Roll out some green fondant. Cut out an octagon to cover most of the top of the cake. Roll out some white fondant. Cut out a pentagon shape to look like a baseball home plate. Transfer the White Sox emblem onto the white fondant by rolling the rolling pin over the image to transfer it to the fondant.

      Place the green fondant on top of the cake. Layer the pentagon over the octagon. Use a small dab of icing to hold both shapes in place.

      Pipe on white dots around the circumference of the cake. Apply a second layer of dots on the base of the cake. Pipe on a red strip of icing around the middle of the sides of the cake. Pipe on any writing that you want on the cake with red icing.

      Roll out some brown fondant between your fingers. Shape the worm shape into a baseball bat. Place the baseball bat on top of the cake. Place some baseball cake toppers on top of the cake around the writing and White Sox emblem.
