How to Upgrade IE5 to IE6 on Windows 2000
Windows 2000 shipped with Internet Explorer 5, but this release was supplanted by Internet Explorer 6. The Internet Explorer 6 upgrade happens automatically as part of the application's installation. The process requires your system to restart, so you'll need to set aside a period of time when your system is not in heavy demand to perform the upgrade.
