How to Add Bike Routes to Google Maps

With Google Maps you can find directions to and from just about anywhere, with the option to add bike routes if you don't want to travel by car. Adding bike routes to Google Maps helps you find safe bike-friendly roads paths to get where you want to go. At the time of publication, Google has added biking information for thousands of bike trails in cities across the US, which means the options available to you will depend on your location.

      Navigate to Google.com and click the "Maps" link at the top of the page.

      Click the "Get Directions" button, then click the bicycle icon.

      Enter your starting point into the field marked "A."

      Enter your destination into the field marked "B." Click the "Add Destination" link to add more destinations to your route if desired.

      Click the "Get Directions" button. Your directions will appear in the column on the left, with a map marked with a green bike route in the window on the right.
