How to Check AT&T Tower Coverage

How to Check AT&T Tower Coverage thumbnail
If you're having problems getting a signal on your AT&T phone, you should check your tower coverage.

If you have a cell phone on the AT&T wireless network, every time you pick up the phone and place a call or check an email, you're connecting to a cell phone tower that then connects you to the network. The farther you are from a tower, the less likely your call is to go through. If you're concerned about this happening in the future, you can first check out AT&T's tower coverage map and be prepared.

Instructions

    • 1

Log on to AT&T's Coverage Viewer website using a computer connected to the Internet.

    • 2

Select the coverage type you're looking for by clicking on the "Voice," "Data," "GoPhone" or "Smart Limits & FamilyMap" links located above the map. Type in the address you want to check on the left side of the website and then hit the "View Map" button and wait for the screen to load.

Locate the pushpin in the center of the map and determine what color the area is by looking at the coverage legend on the bottom of the map. Determine if this level of coverage is satisfactory for your needs.
