How to Redye With Rit Dye Colors
When you are looking for an item of clothing that is a particular color, you may not always be able to find it at a department store. However, you can use Rit fabric dye to redye clothing that you already have. You can find Rit dyes in a wide variety of colors at any grocery or craft store. This will allow you to create custom-dyed clothing and will save you money at the same time.

- To redye with Rit dye, you will need the following:
- RIT fabric dye, liquid
- Large pot

Select the Rit liquid dye color that you want to use to redye your fabric. You can find Rit dye at any craft, fabric or grocery store in a wide range of colors. If you cannot find the specific color you are envisioning, you can create a custom color by mixing together a few similar shades.

Fill a large pot with 3 gallons of water and pour one container's worth of liquid Rit dye into the water.

Heat the water until it just begins to boil; then, turn down the heat to low.

Place the fabric you want to dye into the water without soaking or wetting it. Submerge the fabric completely into the simmering water. Simmer the fabric for 20 minutes; then, pull it out to check the coloration. Simmer the fabric for a longer period of time until you reach the desired color.

Rinse the fabric under hot water, decreasing the heat as the water turns clear. Dry the fabric in a clothes dryer under high heat.
