How to Stop Burns From Serrano Peppers
Serrano peppers are some of the hottest commonly found peppers in supermarkets today. Serrano peppers have an average Scoville rating of 12,500 units. The Scoville scale rates for how hot peppers are. Serrano peppers rank well above jalapeno peppers, but below the famously spicy habanero peppers. Drink a glass of milk after consuming serrano peppers. The main chemical that makes serrano peppers spicy is called capsaicin, and the main chemical that cools off capsaicin is casein, found in dairy products like milk.

Eat a yogurt- or dairy-based Popsicle. The casein in the dairy combined with the cold temperature of the Popsicle may provide some relief.

Put a mixture of 1 parts bleach and 3 parts water in a small bowl. Dip your hands in the bowl and then dry them off quickly. The bleach solution may wash away the oils from serrano peppers.

Pour some milk in a small bowl and put your hands in the milk. Dairy products may provide relief from hot pepper burns even on the skin.

Tips & Warnings
Wear latex gloves when preparing serrano peppers. Latex gloves will protect your hands from pepper burn.
Do not drink water if you are suffering from serrano pepper burns. Drinking water may just intensify the burning sensation.
