How to Choose a Face for AOL Games

Select an avatar face to use as your buddy icon on AOL games.

If you want to customize your AOL profile, you can choose an avatar face to use as your buddy icon. A buddy icon is the picture that is attached to your AOL screen name. Whenever you sign into an AOL web portal, such as AOL games, or games.com, your buddy icon will be displayed. You can choose a face for your AOL game profile by editing your AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) settings.

Instructions

1. Log onto the Internet and visit AIM.com. Click the link "Settings" in the right-hand corner.

2. Click on the tab "Expressions" and sign into your account by entering your username and password in the appropriate fields.

3. Click the link "Change my IM Expression." Wait for the buddy icon avatars to populate on the screen.

4. Navigate through the categories until you find a face to use as your buddy icon. Highlight the avatar and click "Apply."

5. Refresh the page and locate your account information in the right-hand corner. You should notice that your buddy icon has been updated to the new face.

6. Navigate to the AOL game portal, otherwise known as games.com, and log into your account. You will notice that the avatar picture on your profile has been updated to the face that you just selected.
