How to Wax With Duct Tape

Save

Waxing is a hair removal technique in which the hair is ripped from the skin by the root. Heated wax is smoothed over the unwanted hair. A paper strip is placed on top of the wax. When the wax hardens, the strip is pulled up against the hair growth to remove the hair. But if you don't want to pay salon prices for a wax, or are nervous about waxing yourself with an at-home kit, consider duct tape. This type of tape strong and sticky enough to do the job. Fair warning: removing hair with duct tape is painful.

Things You'll Need

  • Duct tape
  • Scissors

Grow the hair so it 1/4-inch long.

Wash and dry the area that is to be waxed.

Cut a strip of duct tape approximately 4 inches to 6 inches long.

Lay the duct tape over the hair, leaving approximately 1/2 inch of tape free.

Press the duct tape against the hair, running your hand over the tape to make sure it is secure.

Grasp the 1/2-inch flap of free tape, and quickly pull it in the opposite direction of the hair growth. Repeat until all unwanted hair is gone.
