A fresh batch of cookies is a glorious thing, but unless the treats are for a party or for sharing with neighbors and friends, it's pretty difficult to eat dozens of cookies before they become hard or stale. If you have extras, freeze them to enjoy later.

Freeze Cookies

Any kind of cookie can be frozen, no matter the ingredients or size. Cookies can generally be kept in the freezer for three to four weeks. Double wrap them in cling wrap and place them into freezer bags or plastic containers to protect from frost and odors in the freezer. Mark the container with the date frozen.

Defrost Cookies

Defrosting frozen cookies is super easy. Just remove them from their plastic wrappings and place them on a plate on the kitchen counter. It may take several hours for the cookies to become soft. To speed things up, you can microwave each cookie for about 30 seconds on full power. (The time depends on the size of the cookie.)
