How to Create Gift Wrap From Random Images
Creating gift wrap from random images is easy and can be done right at home with materials usually found around the house. Making your own gift wrap is not only a "green" method of presenting a gift, but it is also a creative form of self-expression. The next time you find yourself searching the closet for wrapping paper to cover a gift for a birthday, the holidays or some other special occasion, take a few extra minutes instead to create your own specialized, one-of-a-kind wrapping paper.

1
Find a collection of images you would like to use for your personalized wrapping paper. You can choose a theme, such as sports and fashion from magazines, or you may use your own personal photographs. Larger photos and images are easier to transform into gift wrap.
-
2
Cut the images into shapes that more easily create a collage. Rounded edges and more circular shapes make creating your gift wrap an easier task. If desired, you can use scrapbook scissors to create fun or ragged edges, or create funky edges with a regular pair of scissors.

Begin to create a collage by laying the images next to each other, with the edges overlapping so as to form them into one single piece of paper. You can also lay them on top of each other, but make sure you can see the part of the image you want showing on the finished product.

When you have enough images in place to create about a regular size piece of notebook paper, tape long strips of clear tape across the images in order to connect them. Use wider tape to create a finished look, similar to lamination. Or use smaller pieces of tape to conserve it -- it's up to you.

5
Add more images and more tape to the collage as you go. Don't be afraid to arrange and rearrange the images until you are satisfied with the layout before you tape them into place. Continue until you have used most of the images or you have the size of wrapping paper you need.

Tips & Warnings
Using whole magazine pages as the base of your collage can make creating larger pieces of wrapping paper more easy -- and it requires less tape. Larger images cover more area and look nicer as a finished product. Tape smaller images on top of these larger ones, if desired. Glue can be used instead of tape, but it does not tend to hold up on the bent edges of wrapped objects.
If you choose to use personal photographs, use only copies of photographs.
