How to Get the Mean Look in "Pokemon Platinum"
With over 400 Pokemon in "Pokemon Platinum," there are a wide variety of moves available. Moves are used in battle to damage your opponents, change their status or alter the battlefield. Mean Look makes the current Pokemon unable to escape from battle. There are only two ways to get Mean Look -- capture a Pokemon that has it or breed a Pokemon that knows the Mean Look with another Pokemon.

Capture a Pokemon that has Mean Look. In "Pokemon Platinum," there are 16 Pokemon that can learn the move. These Pokemon are mostly ghost, poison or dark type Pokemon. You can find them in a variety of locations, including Turnback Cave.

Breed the Mean Look move onto a Pokemon. In "Pokemon Platinum," you can breed moves onto Pokemon that normally would not be able to use it. For example, breeding a Ralts -- who normally does not learn Mean Look -- with a Jynx -- who learns Mean Look over time -- will produce a Ralts who can learn Mean Look. There are seven Pokemon who can learn Mean Look through breeding.

Use Mean Look at the start of battle to stop Pokemon from escaping. This is useful when capturing a Pokemon who often runs from battle, including the legendary birds Zapdos, Moltres and Articuno. Caution, however: A Pokemon who uses Mean Look must stay in battle or else Mean Look will no longer be active.
