How to Stop the Same Pop-Up Ads All the Time

Prevent annoying pop-ups with your browser's pop-up blocker.

When you're surfing the Web, pop-up ads can be a real nuisance. They slow you down, obstruct your view and, at times, add noise pollution in the form of voices and music. You can prevent unwanted pop-up ads by adjusting the settings on your pop-up blocker.

Instructions

Internet Explorer

1. Open an Internet Explorer browser.

2. Click the "Tools" option located in the upper tool bar.

3. Click the "Pop-Up Blocker" and choose the option to turn it on or off.

Mozilla Firefox

1. Open a Mozilla Firefox browser.

2. Click the "Tools" tab on the upper tool bar. Click "Options."

3. Choose the "Content" tab.

4. Check the box labeled "Block Pop-Up Windows."

Tips & Warnings

• In Internet Explorer, you can allow pop-ups from certain sites by clicking the "Settings" tab, typing the URL of the desired site and clicking "Add." In Mozilla Firefox, you can allow pop-ups from specified websites by clicking the "Exceptions" tab, typing the URL in the space provided and clicking "Allow."
