Decorating a living room in the Moroccan style means that you're embracing a rich color palette. The style takes its inspiration from the Moroccan landscape --- the deserts, the rough rocks and the brilliance of the sunset, as well the blues and greens of the Mediterranean Sea, all count as the most important influences on the style. Moroccan decorating uses all these colors together without reservation. However, the place where each color is used is generally fairly specific, although some exceptions do exist. Familiarize yourself with the colors of Moroccan decorating. Blue stands above the rest as the style's main color choice. Colors rich as jewels such as emerald green, soft pink, sunset red, mauve and orange augment the blues of Mediterranean, along with earth tones such as terracotta, umber and olive.

Paint your furniture. Deep reds, rich blues and yellows are common paint colors for furniture. To add to the Moroccan feel, consider adding geometric stencil designs on the furniture as well.
