1. Visit Parson's Auto Parts. If that old car of yours is taking up space in your garage or driveway, consider selling it to someone that can make use of its parts or restore it to working condition. Parson's Auto Parts at 2250 Parson's Avenue can purchase the whole lot and give you a fair price. You can tow the car directly to their office, but it would be wise to get an estimate from them first. Contact them by phone at 614-443-7451 or peruse their website and submit information about your vehicle.

2. Visit Ace Iron and Metal. If you have aluminum cans, old motors, metal pipes and other unusable scraps in your basement and garage, consider making money out of these by selling them to Ace Iron and Metal. This recycling establishment will accept any metal thing from cans and wires to junked appliances and burned-out motors. They pay in cash and offer competitive prices for non-rusted items. Their office is at 2515 Groveport Road.

3. Visit Edison Automotive at 1529 McKinley Avenue and is a used parts seller, particularly devoted to automobile and motor parts. They sell restored cars as well. They also accept all kinds of junk metals, from metal sheets to old appliances and non-functioning motors. Their slogan: "If it sticks to a magnet, we usually buy it."

4. Visit I.H. Schlezinger Inc., the oldest scrap yard in Columbus. They have been in the business of buying and recycling scrap since 1915 and accept all kinds of metal scraps and recyclable parts. They are at 1041 Joyce Avenue and can pick up scrap at your doorstep and pay cash. The only caveat is that they prefer to deal in bulk. Hence, if you have only a few pieces to sell, consider smaller scrap yards instead.

5. Like Parson's Auto Parts, Columbus Auto Recycling mainly deals in automobiles. They do not accept auto parts, though. They will purchase any vehicle, functional or not. But they don't purchase chopped up parts and scrap metal. On the other hand, this particular junkyard does offer cash loans for old or scrap vehicles. This means that if you don't plan to sell your old car for sentimental reasons, you can use it as collateral for a loan instead. Columbus Auto Recycling is at 860 Marion Road.
