How to Realign the C4280 Printer

The HP Photosmart C4280 All-in-One printer features printing, copying and scanning capability, with an integrated LCD display, memory card reader, an input sheet capacity of up to 100 pages, USB connectivity and 32 MB of internal memory. Aligning the printer cartridges for the C4280 will ensure proper printing performance and eliminate undesired line gaps within photo or text printouts. The alignment process for the printer cartridges is an easy task that does not require any special technical knowledge or tools to complete.

      Click on the "Start" menu button, followed by "All Programs". Power on the printer and allow the machine to initialize. Insert a sheet of plain white A4 printing paper into the machine's sheet feeder.

      Open the "HP Solution Center" program listed on the menu. Click on "Settings" and hover the mouse cursor over "Print Settings" and choose the "Printer Toolbox" from the options listed.

      Click on the "Device Services" menu tab.

      Click on the "Align the Print Cartridges," press the "Ok" soft button on the printer and allow the machine to print a cartridge alignment page.

      Retrieve the cartridge alignment printout and lift the scanner bed. Place the printout face down on the top-right corner of the glass portion of the scanner. Lower the scanner bed.

      Hit the soft button next to "Ok to Scan Page." After the "On" button located on the printer stops flashing, remove the cartridge alignment page from the scanner to complete the process.
