Go to wireless.att.com.

Select "Wireless". The icon is located on the top left of the screen. Then select "Prepaid GoPhone."

Choose "Add Minutes Now." The icon is located on the right top of the screen.
Press the "Go" button in the box that says "Give a gift."

Enter your friend's cell phone number in the box that asks for it. Re-enter the number in the next box. Type in your friend's name. Select "Continue."

Select the refill value from the list. Choose if you are paying with a debit or credit card from the drop down menu. Select "Continue."

Enter your credit card information including the card number, your name and your address. Select continue a and confirm the purchase.

Tips & Warnings
You can also add minutes by going into an AT&T store and paying cash or credit. Give the customer service representative your friend's telephone number and tell the representative how many minutes you want to pay.
