      Open up your Internet browser and type "http://www.speedtest.net" into the address bar.

      Wait for the test to find your location and ISP based on your IP (Internet protocol) address.

      Wait for your total results to be calculated. This will allow you to see your ping, download speed and upload speed.

      Open up your Internet browser and type "http://performance.toast.net" into your address bar.

      Select either "Text" or "Shuffle" on the dial-up menu on the left-hand side depending on your dial-up connection.

      Move your cursor over the "Start Test" button at the bottom of the page. Left click to begin the test.
