Instructions

  1. House Gift Box

    • 1

Obtain a picture of your house with its full frontal view. Cut out the surroundings such as the trees, grass, sky and lawn using scissors, leaving only the house.

    • 2

Attach the picture to one side of a box using glue. Make sure that the box is a bit smaller than the cut-out picture. This style is patterned after boomtown architecture. A common feature of boomtown architecture is the false front of the house or building. The facade of the house is higher than the rest of the house, giving the impression that the house is huge when, in fact, it is not.

    • 3

Wait for the glue to dry and make a small opening for the door using a craft knife. This will allow you to open and close the door. Put treats such as candies, chocolates or cookies inside the box. Your house gift box is now ready and will be appreciated by a family member who is far away and misses home.

    Recycled Cans

    • 4

Find a used but clean metal can and bring it to school. Coat the can with glue using a paintbrush.

    • 5

Wrap the can using various colors of strings. The strings must be cut into strips so that it is easy to create designs and patterns. Press the strings gently onto the can while wrapping it. Use your creativity and imagination to make string patterns and designs on your can.

    • 6

Cover the entire can with strips of strings. Put pencils and pens inside your recycled can.

    Heart Felt Baskets

    • 7

Cut out a big heart pattern on a sheet of paper. Trace the pattern twice on felt to make two hearts of the same size.

    • 8

Bring the two hearts together by pressing them against each other. Sew the edges of the hearts together using a straight stitch. Start sewing halfway down the left side and go halfway up the right side. The hearts are sewn halfway in order to leave an opening for your basket.

    • 9

Cut a piece of felt 12 inches long for your basket handle. Attach it to the inside seams of the hearts. Decorate your basket with smaller cut-out hearts from felt and add candies inside.
