How to Create Your Own Funny Politcal Video
Politics is great fodder for humor, as many times the decisions made and stances taken by high profile politicians may baffle, amuse and sometimes anger people. Humor is a great way to get one's political views across in a way that might be more accessible than a serious discussion. Making a funny political video is an effective way of being topical and proving one's abilities in both humor and politics.

Shooting your own political humor video
-
1
Prepare your script. You need to know what you are talking about, as politics is often controversial and your argument needs to be as airtight as possible to get your point across. Make sure your viewers have the information they will need to make the connections you want them to make and sympathize with your view. Make your presentation clear and well-timed enough to bring out the humor and absurdity in the situation.

2
Prepare your set. This can range from a simple stool and microphone for a stand-up set to an elaborate set for skits or situational comedy. Location may matter, depending on the topic. Also take into account lighting and sound requirement. You may need another person to hold and run the camera during recording.

Prepare yourself, and other actors. If you are the only person in the video, make sure you have rehearsed well and present yourself in a way that is relevant to the situation. Or, you may be the director, in which case your job is to make sure the people acting in your video are well prepared. Make sure everyone involved is equipped with the appropriate props and microphones, as needed.

4
Shoot your video. Video may be shot using simple digital video cameras or more advanced ones, with lots of extra features. Shooting may consist of one prolonged shot as you (or someone else) monologues, or several scenes for more elaborate videos. You will most likely need to shoot more than once, to make sure all actors get their lines right, to make sure the sound and light are adequate and to compensate for unexpected elements.
-
5
Edit your video. Sometimes it's not necessary, but for complex bits requiring scenes, effects and gags, editing is needed to create a good quality video in which the medium does not distract from the story being told. Often things will need to be cut out or added or reshot as you go through your footage.
-
6
Distribute your video. This can range from uploading to video sites, social networking sites, your own website or onto a disc to give to your friends (or enemies).

Tips & Warnings
Practice, practice, practice. While humor is one of those intangible things and some are funnier than others, practice is almost always needed to make yourself and others look effortless and prevent the viewer from being distracted by the actors' nervousness or self-consciousness.
