Navigate to the Curse.com home page. There are many other addon sites to browse, but Curse.com is generally considered the most legitimate site with the most expansive catalog of addons.

Locate the "WoW Addons" tab in the orange header bar and click it.

Browse the available categories and click on the one that best suits your needs. There are three main categories of addons: class addons; popular categories, which is subdivided into auction & economy, combat, PvP, boss encounters, map & minimap, and unit frames; and general addons.

Sort the list of addons in your chosen category by name, hits, update or rating.

Download the addon either by downloading it manually or using the Curse Client. Downloading the addon manually requires that you unzip the addon and drag the addon folder into the World of Warcraft Interface sub-folder. Using the Curse Client will download and install the addon automatically with a single click of a button, but requires that you install the Curse Client first.
