How to Finish the Ends of a Rope Braid
For the longevity of your rope, the ends need to be tucked away. If they aren't, the rope can splice away until it becomes too cumbersome to use. Nylon ropes are often braided, providing more flexibility than a standard one-strand rope. These ropes are apt at tying boats to docks, for example, because they allow for a bit of wiggle room for the watercraft as the waves crash down. While you can burn the end of the rope to secure the fabric of the threads together, there is a cleaner way.
