How to Set Up Fire FTP
File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is one of a set of communications protocols used to transfer files between computers over the Internet. FTP is part of the TCP/IP suite of protocols. Access FTP sites with an FTP client. Many browsers can be used as FTP clients, including Mozilla Firefox. Firefox provides FTP capabilities through an add-on called FireFTP.

Go to Mozilla's add-on website.

Click the "Add to Firefox." This will open the "Software Installation" window. Click the "Install Now" button. This will install the FireFTP add-on.

Close out and restart Firefox when finished with the installation.

Go to the top main menu in Firefox. Click on "Tools" then "FireFTP." This will open the program within Firefox.

Click on "Create an account." Enter your FTP address and FTP server in the "Host" box and your login and password information. Click "OK."

Click "Connect." Firefox will connect to your FTP server and present you the files and folders on the right of the FireFTP screen. You can now drag files from your computer to your remote server and from your server to your local computer.

Click "Disconnect" to close out the FTP connection when done.
