How to Make Porcupine Spikes in Scene Hair for Girls
For an all-party, no-business "scene" hairstyle, you can create porcupine spikes in the back of your hair. Visit your stylist and ask for a scene cut with short layers in the back of the crown to porcupine spike. Then, tease up volume in the back and slick down your 45-degree-angle bangs in the front for a scene porcupine style all your own. Wash your hair. Blow dry by flipping your head over and continuously brushing all of your hair to the front with a large barreled, round brush. Plug in your ceramic flat iron to heat.

Tease your hair at the crown using a thin-tooth comb for volume. Smooth over the front angle of your hair by gently combing hair forward in the 45-degree-angle style you like. Comb any knots out of the short layers in the back of your hair that are your porcupine layers.

Sprinkle a generous amount dry wax onto your fingertips. Run your fingers through your spikes by pulling them up from the root and out to the tip. Flat iron the spikes from root to tip, pulling the fat iron up toward the ceiling. Continue until all spikes have been ironed and are standing up.

Rub a dab of molding creme, texturizing pomade or a styling product with hold and flexibility through the spikes. Use another dab and run it across your bangs for a straight edge across your brow. Finish with hairspray.

Tips & Warnings
If the spikes fall flat, apply a generous amount of gel to each spike. Comb them up toward the ceiling while blasting them with the blow dryer at the same time.
