Making digital backups of your expensive software always is a good idea. These backups come in the form of an ISO file. The problem is how to use the backup after you have created it. The ISO file is actually a mountable file. Using a virtual drive program, you can trick your computer into thinking the ISO file is an actual disk. This works for all software, including Rosetta Stone.
Step 1
Download one of the image mounting programs from the resource section of this guide. Each one works nearly the exact same way.

Step 2
Reboot your computer after the install completes. Right-click the icon in the notification area of your computer. This is located on the lower-right corner of the screen.
Step 3
Click "Virtual Devices" and "Mount" to open a new window. Click your Rosetta Stone ISO file and click "OK" to load it onto your computer as a virtual drive.
Step 4
Click the "Start" button on the computer screen and click "Computer." Double-click the Rosetta Stone icon and click "Yes" to begin the install. Click your way through the installation wizard and Rosetta Stone will be installed on your computer. Reboot your computer.
Step 5
Click the "Start" button and click "All Programs." Click the Rosetta Stone link and the program will start. You do not need to keep the ISO file mounted in order to use the program.
