How to Put a Graduate's Address on Announcements

Get creative with your printer to add information to a graduation announcement.

Graduation announcements require a myriad of information to appear in print. The graduate's name, name of school, and the date and location of the graduation all are included. Typically, a picture of the graduate is included in the announcement. An announcement does not include any other information about the graduate that might interest a recipient, such as an address or contact information. Although this information may not be a standard entry on the announcement, there is room to add it separately. Recipients of the announcement will appreciate receiving updated contact information as graduates often move from a college address to start a job or in the case of high school graduates, continue their education away from home.

Instructions

    • 1

Discover an open space on the pre-printed announcement for the addition of a small sticker that will contain the graduate's name and address. Look to the back of the announcement, as well as the envelope, for an appropriate space to apply the sticker. Do not place the sticker so it covers any pertinent information on the announcement.

    • 2

Purchase labels proportionate to the announcement size. A standard return address label can be clear or white, depending on the color of paper it will be placed upon. Anything too large may be imposing and anything smaller too hard to read.

    • 3

Launch the word processing software. For Microsoft Works: Select "Tools" from the toolbar menu. Scroll to "Labels" and click the selection. Select "return address labels" from the pop up window. For Microsoft Word: Select "Mailings" from the toolbar menu. Locate the "Labels" button. Select the type of label you have purchased by product name and label number on the packaging. Enter the name of the graduate, and the address associated with him. Highlight the "Full Page of Same Label" option prior to printing.

Print the labels. Remove and apply to each individual announcement, envelope or both where appropriate.
