How to Eliminate Desktop Background Color

Computer desktops need a change of scenery sometimes.

Many people like to customize their desktop background color to showcase their personal pictures, collages, or to set one of the default pictures your computer comes with. If your computer is brand new, your desktop will most likely have a default image or a solid color background. Either way, you may eventually want change the color or eliminate the background color (making it white or "clear"), which is very simple.

Instructions

1. Click on the "Start" button at the bottom of your desktop.

2. Click "Control Panel," located on the right side of the Start menu.

3. Type "Window Color" in the search box.

4. Click "Change Window Glass Colors" to open the Window Color and Appearance guide.

5. Click on "White" or "Clear" from the choices of colors. Click "Save Changes," then exit out of the program.
