How to Make Good Pancakes
Perfect pancakes can be made at home from items found in a stocked pantry. They take less than a half hour to make and require only a stove and frying pan. Make sure to preheat the frying pan to make golden-brown pancakes and then serve alone with maple syrup and butter, or with meats such as sausage links or bacon. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Large bowl
- Frying pan
- Cooking oil
- Spatula
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 egg
- 1 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Butter
- Maple syrup
- Measuring cup

Mix flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in large bowl.

Use the spatula to make a well in the center of the mixture. Break an egg and add it, melted butter and milk to the well. Mix until smooth.

Heat one tablespoon of oil in a frying pan on medium-high setting. After the pan is heated, scoop or pour 1/4 cup of batter into the pan for each pancake.

Cook until both sides are brown. Flip after you see bubbles on the surfaces of the pancakes.

Remove from heat and use the spatula to place the pancakes onto a plate. Serve with butter and maple syrup.

Tips & Warnings
The frying pan and oil will be hot. Do not allow children to play near the stove and do not touch the pan directly.
