1
Sweep the wood floor on a regular basis, preferably daily, to remove surface dirt and dust. A vacuum with a "bare floors" setting can be used to suction up dirt and dust.
-
2
Spray a wax-free wood cleaning solution onto the floor after sweeping. Do not oversaturate the wood. Some examples of no-wax wood cleaning brands include Bruce, Woodwise, Harris-Tarkett, Duster Plus and Murphy.

3
Dip a mop into a bucket of warm water or dampen a large, soft cloth with warm water. Squeeze out excess water as too much water can damage the floors.
-
4
Run the mop or cloth in a circular motion over the wood floors to gently wipe up the cleaning solution and any dirt or debris.
-
5
Allow the floors to air dry. If water or cleaner has pooled in any area, wipe up with a soft, dry cloth.
