How Do I Get an Address Book Into Outlook Express?

Outlook Express lets you import contact data from outside files.

The Outlook Express program, which comes installed on PC systems running Windows XP, includes an address book feature for storing contact information. You can either create new contact records directly in Outlook Express or import data from outside files. Using the import tool, Outlook Express users can get data from other address books or even text files into their contact list.

Instructions

1. Launch the Outlook Express program on your PC computer.

2. Go to "Tools" in the top menubar and select "Address Book."

3. Open the "File" menu in the pop-up window, expand the "Import" submenu and choose the "Other Address Book" option.

4. Highlight the type of text file or address book file you want to use and then click "Import."

5. Press "Browse" and double-click on the file you want to import into your Outlook Express address book.

6. Click "Next" and "Finish" to transfer the contact data into your Outlook Express address book.
