How to Check the Blower Motor Relay on a Chevy
by Daniel ValladaresThe blower motor relay on your Chevy vehicle is essential for the operation of the blower. If the relay is blown out, you will need to install a new one is soon as you can. Thankfully, it is fairly simple to tell if the relay is malfunctioning and to install a replacement. The blower motor relay is located in the under hood power distribution center and is simply labeled "Blower." It will only take a few minutes to inspect and replace the relay if necessary.
Step 1
Open the hood of your Chevrolet vehicle.
Step 2
Remove the fuse block cover. The fuse block is located in the upper corner of the engine compartment, and the cover can be removed by hand.
Step 3
Pull the blower relay out of the fuse block. The blower relay is located near the front of the fuse block and is labeled "Blower." Inspect the center of the relay. If the metal rod inside is broken, the relay will need to be replaced.
Step 4
Install a replacement relay if necessary. Reattach the cover to the fuse block and close the hood of your Chevrolet vehicle.
