How to Clear Text on Skype
By default, Skype archives all conversation logs. The length of time the archives are kept can be adjusted within the preferences panel of the application. Skype can even be set to not keep a history at all. However, if you would like to delete current conversation logs, you can do so at anytime. Deleting the Skype history will delete all entries including instant messages, calls, voicemails, SMS messages and any files that have been sent or received.

Sign in to your Skype application.

Select "Skype" from the menu bar, then click "Privacy."

Navigate to the section labeled "Keep History For," and click "Clear History."

Click "Skype" on the top menu bar, then select "Preferences."

Navigate to the "Privacy" panel for Skype 5.0 and above, or "Chats" for Skype 4.2 and below.

Deleting your conversation logs is permanent. Once deleted, the history cannot be restored.
