Instructions

    • 1

Prepare to cut your frosting sheet. Clean your mat and allow it to dry.

    • 2

Coat your mat. Rub a coat of shortening on the mat using a pastry brush. The coating should not be white; if so, you used too much shortening.

    • 3

Open the bag of frosting sheets. Take out sheets one at a time, then reseal the bag.

    • 4

Remove the paper from the back of the sheet and spread shortening on the back using a pastry brush.

    • 5

Put the frosting sheet on the greased mat. Use a smoother tool from a cake tool kit or a rolling pin to smooth out any air bubbles.

    • 6

Cut your sheets. Follow the arrows on the cake cutter machine to set the cutting blade about 1/2-inch from the top and side of the sheet. Turn the machine to a medium speed and cut the sheet using medium pressure. Do not cut the mat.

    • 7

Place the cut sheets in a plastic bag and seal it. This prevents the sheets from drying.
