How to Reset the BIOS on an Acer Aspire Laptop

Acer's Aspire series of laptop computers covers a range of models, each with a specific configuration and set of features. Each Acer Aspire laptop model uses the same type of basic input/output system, or BIOS. The BIOS is used to control and configure aspects of the computer's hardware settings. The BIOS in each Acer Aspire laptop has a feature that resets all BIOS settings to their original configuration.

Instructions

1. Turn the Acer Aspire laptop on. Restart it if it is already turned on.

2. Press the "Del" key as soon as the computer turns on. The BIOS setup utility will load.

3. Press the "F5" key to reset the BIOS to default values.

4. Press the "F10" key to save the changes and exit the BIOS setup utility.
