How to Steal a Cop Car in "Grand Theft Auto IV"
"Grand Theft Auto IV," released for multiple systems in 2008, allows you to steal any type of car found in the game. Whether it's a speedy sports car, an 18 wheeler or even a police car, you can steal it. It can be difficult to steal a cop car. The police in "GTA IV" ride two to a car, quickly stopping you from stealing an occupied car. One method, however, allows you to steal a cop car every time.

Open your in-game cell phone and dial "911."

Select "1" for police. A police car will be sent to your location.

Wait for the two officers to exit the car, looking for the person or disturbance behind the call.

Enter the vehicle when the two officers have moved away from the vehicle. Stealing the vehicle this way, as opposed to injuring the two officers, will result in less wanted stars.

Drive the police car away from the police radius shown on your minimap. When you are out of the police radius, park the car out of view of the streets and wait for the wanted stars to disappear. When they are gone, the police will stop looking for you, and you will be in possession of the police car.
