How to Restart Voicemail on a Straight Talk Phone

Restart your Straight Talk voicemail service so you won't miss out an important message.

Straight Talk is a prepaid wireless service provided by TracFone. All of its mobile phones come with voicemail capabilities; however, you must utilize your airtime minutes to access your voicemail messages. Because of this, many people opt to deactivate their voicemail service altogether. If you have previously deactivated your voicemail service but want to restart it, do so by by contacting the Straight Talk customer service department.

Contact the Straight Talk customer service department at 877-430-CELL (2355) from a land-line phone. Follow the prompts to speak with a representative.

Provide the representative with your Straight Talk MEID DEC and/or serial number and your Straight Talk cell phone number. Find the MEID DEC and/or serial number inside the battery compartment on a bar code of your Straight Talk phone.

Inform the representative of your intent to restart your voicemail service. Wait for the representative to reactivate the service.

Dial “*86” followed by “Send” from your Straight Talk phone. Wait for your phone to connect to your voicemail box.

Follow the prompts to set up your greeting and establish a passcode. Press the “End” key to disconnect the call once you have finished setting up your voicemail box.
