Educators are often eligible for a host of educational grants, also called classroom grants. These help teachers provide a better educational environment for their students. It is well known that many educators fund their own classroom tools. Educator grants are free money provided to enrich the classroom experience. Classroom grants are probably the most plentiful grants in existence today. Most of these grants are very small and are under $500 dollars, but they can be used to purchase many educational aids for the classroom like writing and drawing tools, models, chemistry sets and other devices.

    • 1

Research teacher grants by doing a general query at grants.gov. You can then take this list and build a sub-set of grants for which you qualify. Please remember that the grant process is very long and involved, so you won't be ableto apply for all of the grants you find.

    • 2

Make a list of all the uses you will have for the money. Understand that misuse of funds is a crime. Enumerate these uses from the least important to the most important. You will use this list when you make out your grant request.

    • 3

Complete your grant applications with this information. It is critical that you take your time and complete each application right. Educator grant applications are simple but you must indicate that your uses of the money are for the purposes prescribed by the grantor. This is the most crucial part of the application.

    • 4

Wait for the results. Educator grants are easy to complete and require less paperwork than most other grant applications, but their waiting period can be very long and can easily span several weeks. Be patient and wait for the results.
