How to Be Sober
Alcohol and other drugs can effect the body in negative ways and sobriety is a great way to counteract those negative effects. Sobriety is a constant state of being sober, which is to say, not in an altered state of consciousness. If you are drunk or high on drugs, there are steps you can take to become sober. These steps, when executed properly, will aid in attaining a non-altered state of mind and improve your life dramatically.

3
Participate in a 12 step program designed to target the root of your alcohol or drug usage. These programs also deal with emotional and relationship issues which are important in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

4
Find and participate in a local support group. Many support groups like Alcohol Anonymous hold meetings to share stories about sobriety and support each other in maintaining sobriety.

5
Enroll in a rehabilitation facility. Enrolling in a rehabilitation facility is often the last step in attempting sobriety.
