How to Move Grand Pianos
A grand piano is extremely heavy and can weigh anywhere from 400 to 1,500 pounds. It is more fragile and more expensive than an upright piano. Moving a grand piano requires plenty of manpower to properly roll and lift it to avoid damage to hardwood floors, carpet or the piano finish. If you don't want the expense of hiring a professional piano moving service, you can carefully move a grand piano by following some basic procedures.
