How to Get Outlook for Free

You can use Microsoft Outlook if you want to use a desktop email client to download your email. Microsoft Outlook is part of the Microsoft Office suite and is the de facto standard email application. You have to purchase Microsoft Outlook, either as a stand-alone product or as a part of the Office suite. You can, however, download a free trial of Microsoft Outlook, bundled with the trial Office suite, to see what its like. You can also download Windows Live Mail, which is a free alternative that replaced Outlook Express.

Instructions

1. Download the 60-day free trial of Microsoft Office 2010.

2. Double-click the installation file and follow the on-screen instructions.

3. Restart your computer when prompted to finalize the setup. Use Microsoft Outlook for free for 60 days.

4. Download and install Windows Live Mail 2011, if you decide you want the free version.
