How to Make an Ice Cream Blizzard

Nothing says dessert like ice cream, and Dairy Queen has introduced us to a new definition of ice cream -- the Blizzard. This frosty treat comes in a plethora of flavors and variations, and many are based on candy bars, another standby of culinary indulgence. If you don't have a Dairy Queen within driving distance, you can make your own Blizzard at home. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • Candy bars of choice
  • Fruit, candy or other desired flavorings
  • 2-1/3 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup half and half

Instructions

      Cut up the candy bars, fruit and any other candy into 1/2-inch pieces or smaller.

      Mix the ice cream, milk and half and half in a blender. Turn the blender on high for 30 to 45 seconds.

      Add the candy bar pieces, fruit and other flavorings, and blend for an additional 30 seconds or until the texture is to your liking.

      Scoop into a large glass or tumbler.
