Swarovski crystals can be used to add a little "bling" to a variety of different items, including clothing, watches and cell phones. When adding crystals, it is important that you use a glue that is strong enough to secure the crystal to the item. Instead of using regular glue, use rhinestone glue. For an even stronger bond, use fabric cement. Although you can apply the crystals using your fingers, the task will be much easier and less messy if you use a crystal applicator or positioner.
Things You'll Need
- Fabric marker
- Swarovski crystals
- Rhinestone glue
- Wax rhinestone applicator
Use a pencil or fabric marker to draw a pattern outline on your item, so you will know exactly where to position each crystal.
Apply rhinestone glue along the pattern outline. Use only a little bit of glue; enough to attach one crystal at a time.
Use a wax rhinestone applicator to pick up one crystal. The wax tip of the applicator should be placed on the top of the crystal.
Position the crystal on top of the glue. Gently press the crystal into place.
Repeat Step 2 through Step 4 to affix all of the remaining crystals to your item.
Allow the item to remain in place for 24 hours to give the glue time to completely dry. If you lift the item while the glue is still wet or damp, the crystals may fall off.
