How to Draw a Chinese Giant Panda
A giant panda is a species of bear native to Southern parts of China. Sadly, pandas are an endangered species owing to their slow reproductive cycles, and due to illegal hunting. Its endangerment, along with its cuddly appearance, has made its image a symbol of the animal advocacy group, World Wildlife Fund. Draw your own panda using a series of circles.

1
Look through the images of giant pandas, and note the distinctive shape and colorings of the bear. Focus your attention on its curved posture and seated position before you begin drawing.
-
2
Draw a large circle to the right of your page for the Panda's body. Its diameter should be about 4 inches. However, so long as the head and limbs are in proportion to the body, you can vary the size of this circle.

-
3
Outline the panda's head. Draw another circle at the 10 o'clock positon to the body circle. Leave a gap of 1 inch between the two circles. The panda is sitting sideways.
-
4
Join the two circles together using two curved lines. The first line goes from the top of the small circle to the 1 o'clock position on the bigger circle. The second line is drawn from the base of the small circle, to the 7 o'clock position on the other. This makes the basic shape of the panda's body.
-
5
Add the panda's facial features. First, draw two large tear-drop shapes to illustrate the black fur patches around its eyes. Then, add two smaller circles within the tear-drops for the panda's eyes.
-
6
Draw a large circle below the panda's eyes to illustrate its muzzle. Add a short curve inside it for the panda's mouth. Illustrate its nose by drawing a small circle or triangle on top of the large circle, just below the eyes.
-
7
Sketch the panda's ears. Add a circle at both the 2 o'clock and 11 o'clock positions on its head. When you color it in, color the inner section of the ear white, and fill in the edges with black.
-
8
Illustrate the panda's legs. Draw a large backwards 'L' shape on the right side of its body to show that the panda is sitting sideways. Give the leg dimension by using wide sausage shapes to form the 'L' shape.
-
9
Repeat Step 6 to draw the front paw, but draw the 'L' shape smaller than the first leg to show the difference in size. The paw is positioned to the left of the back leg.
-
10
Color in your Chinese panda with the appropriate colorings. Use black circles around its eyes for its distinctive eye patches, then draw a wide black stripe across the center of its body. The top and bottom sections remain white, and the middle is white. Color its paws black.
