How to Create a Timeline of Your Life
Making a timeline of your life is an entertaining way to keep track of some of the most memorable experiences in your life. With a timeline, you can write down the dates and events that matter most to you. Looking back on the timeline later, it will provide a snapshot of your history for you to look back upon fondly.

Planning

1
Create a list of the information you want to put on your timeline. These should be events in your life that matter to you. Examples may include your first kiss, when you got your driver's license, when you graduated high school or when you first moved into your own place.
-
2
Write a month, date and year for every item you can. If you don't remember the specific dates, get as specific as you can, even if you can only remember the year an event happened.

-
3
Rewrite your list in chronological order, starting with the earliest events and ending with the most recent.
Creating your Timeline

4
Take a sheet of blank paper and turn it sideways. Draw a straight horizontal line through the center. Near the left side, place a shorter vertical line going through the horizontal one. Write list item number one under the vertical line and write the date above the vertical line.
-
5
Draw another vertical line, giving yourself a bit of space so you have room to fill in the details. Write down the second event on your list using the same method.
-
6
Continue until you run out of paper. Flip the page over and lay another piece of blank paper next to it. Tape the backs so the two pieces are connected. Continue drawing up your timeline with the same method used for the first page. Add as many pages of blank paper as you need to complete the timeline.

Tips & Warnings
Consider leaving yourself enough room by each entry to place a photograph related to the event, if you so choose.
