Instructions

    • 1

Install a canopied seating area in one part of your patio. A canopy tent will give your patio a Moroccan feel. You can purchase a canopy frame made of weather-resistant material, or if you are handy with a saw and wood, you can create your own. Make a comfortable seating area under the canopy and fill it with rich-looking throw pillows.

    • 2

Drape sheer, weather-resistant fabric over the canopy. This will give the seating area a private, romantic feel. You can choose white fabric to let light through or a darker color such as crimson or purple. Look for the fabric in the patio section of a home and garden store. It will also serve as mosquito netting.

    • 3

Place a Moroccan-inspired rug in the center of the patio. Choose one that is made of easy-to-clean weather-resistant fabric. Arrange comfortable seating around it. Again, fill the seating with richly colored and textured throw pillows.

    • 4

Hang Moroccan-style lanterns of various heights around the patio. Place two near the seating area, and disperse the rest where light is needed. These lanterns are typically made of glass and iron. You can hang the lanterns from posts. Alternatively, hang them from tree branches or put them on tables.

    • 5

Add desert-like plants such as yucca to the patio area. If you live in an arid climate, plant succulents around the patio. Put additional plants in Moroccan ceramic containers. Look for pots with an earth-tone finish and intricate designs.
