Instructions

    • 1

Apply a dollop of mousse to damp hair. The exact amount depends on the thickness of the hair. Use your fingers to distribute it throughout. Focus on the roots to build volume.

    • 2

Pull your hair back to the nape of your neck. At that spot, begin braiding the hair loosely; don't pull it too tight. If any hair sticks out of the braid, it's fine as it's supposed to be messy. Secure at the bottom with a rubber band.

    • 3

Loosen sections of hair that frame the face; loose tendrils add to the look of the messy braid. Spray a shine serum onto the hair and braid to smooth down excess flyaway hair. Spray a light mist of hairspray onto the front of the hair.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add flower clips or sparkly barrettes to the messy braid.
