Inspect the logo. An authentic Wenger has a logo shaped as a square with rounded corners. Inside the square is a white cross and the center of the square is red.The outline around the square is white. Counterfeiters will try to use the same logo.

Use the price as an indicator. A "Wenger" being sold new for $10 is most likely a fake. Wenger knives range in price from $20 to near $100, depending on the model.

Open and close the tools and blades. A real Wenger has a smooth, nearly imperceptible motion until the tool locks into place. Feel for the smooth motion. If there is a gritty movement or jerky motion, it most likely is not a real Wenger.

Open the main knife blade and look for a marking that says "Wenger Delemont Switzerland Stainless." Use the magnifying glass if needed. The marking is near the bottom of the blade.
